Structured question:
    1. a) State the particles found in the nucleus of an atom.
         b)Chlorine consist of two isotopes, 35Cl and 37Cl. What is meant by the term  isotope?
        c) Identify each peak in this spectrum. 
       d) Explain why the height of the peak are not the same?
       e) State five applications of a mass spectrometer.

žEssay questions:      
2. a) Chlorine consist of two isotopes, 35Cl and 37Cl in the abundance ratio of 3:1. Phosphorus is a monoisotope, P. The mass spectrum for phosphorus chloride consist of 9 lines in 3 groups.
